Specialist Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist
Having trained in the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, Sally has over 40 years of working in NeuroMusculo-Skeletal Physiotherapy for the NHS as well as her own private practice over the last 18 years.
She places strong emphasis on holistic treatment. Her wide clinical experience includes many acute, traumatic, surgical, and chronic conditions as well as sporting injuries. She has in depth knowledge of:
• Soft tissue physiology
• Muscle balance
• Correct postures
• Patterns of movement
• Joint mobilisation techniques
• Exercise therapy
• Myofascial release
She is a specialist in the Lumbo-Pelvic-Hip complex from where many problems of the upper body and lower limbs may arise.
She is keen to offer a complete pathway of successfully treating an injury, then strengthening to enable the whole body to achieve its optimum, whatever the goal; housework, gardening, charity walks or triathlons—– and thus preventing further injury.
She also stresses the importance of teaching patients about their conditions and treatment; as this encourages self-management and self-confidence to continue a healthy, balanced lifestyle.
