Contact UsKath studied Physiotherapy as her second degree at St Georges University Hospital- graduating in 2005. She has worked as a Senior therapist at Frimley Park Hospital since 2009. She has experience in adult care in acute medicine/intensive care/surgery/ neuro and rehabilitation – both hospital and community based. This broad clinical experience of acute/chronic and complex conditions is across musculoskeletal/respiratory and neurological specialties, which now allows her to place a strong emphasis on holistic care.
She chose to specialise in Paediatric care after assisting in some clinics – since then she hasn’t looked back!
Kath now has many years’ experience of working with children, which consists of both ward and out-patient work at Frimley Park Hospital and Private Clinics in Surrey. She works on Frimley Parks’ maternity and neonatal unit with conditions like talipes, hip dysplasia or chest infections. The children’s ward is where she is part of a large multidiscipline team, treating anything from pain and movement difficulties/ broken bones/breathing or neurological conditions. This allows her to have a wide knowledge of paediatric conditions and has a vast network of Paediatricians and other health care professionals as her resource.
Her out-patient clinics cover babies’ conditions/under 5s through to 16 year olds. Because children are not small adults they require specialist care. Her treatments include:
The importance of rehabilitation and individual/family goals are at the heart of each child’s care – be it a normal daily activity or a high level of sporting achievement. She believes that it is important to not only manage the problem, but ensure the individual is stronger physically and psychologically. This in turn will develop a self-confidence, understanding and self- management of their aliments, however, big or small.
Kath has a particular interest in musculoskeletal and respiratory problems and is completing Masters level studies this year. She is passionate about her job and has been praised on her ability to support parents and guide a child or teenager through their battle with injury / pain or dysfunction.
Kath treats a number of conditions that your child may have been diagnosed with and she is happy to discuss any parental concerns. She has two young girls of her own and is very aware that being listened to is the first step forward.
